TELEVISIONES.net

If you follow me, you know I watch more YouTube than traditional TV. The problem is that YouTube is designed for searching, not for watching: you go in, pick a video, it ends, and you start all over again. I wanted the opposite: to turn it on and have something already playing, like TV always was, but with my channels.

From that idea came TelevisionesNet, a WordPress plugin I’m developing with my brother Raúl (serlib). The system watches the YouTube channels you tell it to and turns their videos into a schedule that updates itself every hour: you pick the channels and the website builds your television, with the videos from latest to oldest, non-stop.

The project’s home is televisiones.net, where you can already watch the latest videos from the channels we follow (football, news and opinion, economics, Asturias…), browse the complete channel list, and create your own television. And the television you build doesn’t stop there: it can be embedded into any other website.

The invention is already running on several of my websites: on MADRIDISTA.com you’ll find the Madrid channels marathon, on asturias.net there’s television with Asturian topics, and on dimision.com we follow 23 Spanish politics and current-affairs channels.

It’s a living project and it keeps growing. If you’re missing a channel, on televisiones.net you can suggest that we add it.
